24 NO CommentsDavid Letterman’s World Wide Pants were not able to make a deal with the WGA before Christmas, but talks will continue next week, and Letterman still hopes to be on the air, with writers, on January 2nd.
Rob Burnett, a World Wide Pants exec said “We had a substantive discussion today with the WGA and look forward to continuing these talks next week.” in relation to the discussions.
I sincerely hope they can negotiate a deal in time, but regardless, I think Letterman is going to need to return at the same time as the other late night talk show hosts in January.

WWE Monday Night Raw is all over the ratings this week thanks to a 3 hour 15th anniversary show. Monday Night Football is still the reigning champion, and - of course - good old Spongebob is hanging around making my brain hurt.
1. Monday Night Football (ESPN)
2. WWE Monday Night RAW (USA)
3. WWE Monday Night RAW (USA)
4. The Hills (MTV)

Starpulse reports that Jenna Fischer recently revealed in an interview that she was snubbed by “Dancing with the Stars” shortly after the first season of “The Office” was a hit.
She said: “They wouldn’t take my call. I had a dance background, I grew up doing ballet… My people called and I tried to use all of my connections and they wouldn’t see me, so I was rejected from ‘Dancing With The Stars.’
Of course, when you can get talent like that guy who boxes, that other guy who owns the Mavericks, that lady who used to be Doctor Quinn, and that chick from the Cheeta Girls - why on earth would you even WANT a currently popular celebrity as one of your “Stars”?

21 NO CommentsIt’s the Holiday season. A time of year when children everywhere gather around the warm glow of the television to enjoy an endless number of holiday and Christmas themed specials. Channels like ABC Family actually tout that they celebrate “25 Days of Christmas” with Christmas movies all month long (although I have to tell them - “The Incredibles” is NOT a Christmas movie).
With the shear number of hours of television that are needed to be filled with holiday themed content this time of year, you would think that something as awesome sounding as a “Star Wars” holiday special would be on every year.
You’d think Star Wars fans all over the world would be able to pop in bright, crisp, DVDs of the special to spread the holiday cheer with their kids.
But you can’t do any of that? Do you know why? Because the “Star Wars Holiday Special” is exceptionally bad…and if you’ve never seen it…well, my friend, you are in for a treat because as our Christmas present to you (and if you don’t celebrate Christmas - that’s ok - we’d still like to give you a gift) we present the complete “Star Wars Holiday Special”.

Apparently, Nickelodeon is tossing around the idea of having kids’ newswoman Linda Ellerbee in to do a special focusing on Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy. It’s intended to address the issues of love and sex in an effort for the network to touch on this delicate subject.
Personally, I feel like it’s a fantastic move. I remember back during the Magic Johnson AIDS deal several years ago, she did a special on sex and AIDS. I remember one girl admitting she had the disease then, and Magic telling her that it was okay to cry. I was pretty young then, but that is one memory that will stay with me forever. Topics like this are important, and I believe that kids want to be talked to about it.
Bring it on, Nickelodeon.

Early this morning, the nominees for the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced. Leading the charge with three nominations a piece were 30 Rock, Ugly Betty and The Sopranos.
Personally, I don’t know that I would say that anything else on the list is really a snub. There’s nothing that really stands out as a show that should have been on this list that isn’t there. I’m absolutely thrilled to see Glenn Close nominated for Damages…one of the best performances in history, in my humble opinion. And Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are about as close to perfection as is humanly possible on 30 Rock.
Anyway, here’s the list (more after the jump), with my personal choices done this-a-way.
Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in Leading Role, Drama Series
James Gandolfini, The Sopranos
Michael C. Hall, Dexter
Jon Hamm, Mad Men
Hugh Laurie, House
James Spader, Boston Legal
Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, Drama Series
Glenn Close, Damages
Edie Falco, The Sopranos
Sally Field, Brothers and Sisters
Holly Hunter, Saving Grace
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

If you’re a fan of All My Children, you probably already know that the current actress playing the role of Greenlee is not the first. When the character of Greenlee was written back into the show, actress Sabine Singh took over the role from Rebecca Budig - but that is about to change again.
Apparently Sabine hasn’t caught on with viewers the way that the studio would like, and on the Jan. 16th episode of the show, she will be replaced by the original actrees, Rebecca Budig…but she isn’t the only alumn heading back to Pine Valley.
Jesse Hubbard and Angie Baxter, played by Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan, will both be making returns to the show by the end of January. It is a time of change on All My Children - and hopefully it will result in some much better writing, because the show has been really poor over the last few months.
We’ll just have to wait and see.

The 20th season of the gawd awful “Real World” is about to go into production. You know, when this show started it was interesting. The people living in the house actually went to work and lived in the real world…now, though, it’s just another reality show - but it may be a reality show that you want to be a part of…
If so, you can click here to head over to the producer’s website to upload your audition tape. Now, before you run off and do that, let me give you a few tips that are going on increase your chances of keeping it “real”.
First - read their directions. Follow those directions EXACTLY or don’t bother submitting. If you can’t do it right - don’t do it at all. The producers say, “Sit down and tell us a story…The majority of your casting tape should look like this. Be creative, have fun, get crazy and most of all, keep it ‘real!’”
Now, if you want them to watch this thing, it needs to look and sound good. It’s easy enough to do, you just have to follow a few simple rules.
1) Record in a brightly lit - Either record in a room with a lot of light, or go outside. Make sure that you have a clear picture when taping. Turn OFF the “auto focus” on the camera.
2) Get rid of background noise - Turn off your cellphone, your stereo, your television - ANYTHING. If there is lots of noise around your house - then you need to go somewhere else. It needs to be quiet, so they can hear you.
3) Google the phrase “rule of thirds” - read up on it - then do it. Your video will look much better.
4) After you get cast remember you owe me - and I expect to get show spoilers and insider info. Don’t forget.
