It looks like Allison Mack is trying her hand at negotiating a higher paycheck for the 8th season of Smallville. The actress is reportedly contemplating not returning for the next season of the “young Superman” show – and she may be using the loss of “Lana” and “Lex” as leverage.
I have some bad news for her, though. The Superman mythos has survived for a very long time with the trinity of Clark, Lois, and Jimmy – and if that happens next season it just might be the shot in the arm that the show needs to really be good again. The loss of Lex Luthor is, of course, a huge blow to the series, but the departure of Lana Lang is seen by many as a good thing. I am definitely one of those people. If this show wants to continue on, it is going to need a complete overhaul to make it work, and the switch to the classic Lois, Jimmy, and Clark trio is a great way to do just that.
This bid by Allison Mack might actually turn out to be a good thing, and breathe new life into the series. The more I think about it – the more I hope she doesn’t come back.
So there.

Miss Mack is a fantastic actress, but I agree. This show has been stuck without direction and frankly needs a kick in the ass. The loss of Lana is wonderful. The loss of Lex is dreadful. I watch SV for Lex as much as for Clark and Lois. With Chloe, you have a character who doesn’t serve much purpose. Much of what she does keeps others from being the ones to do it. Chloe gets every aspect Kara should. Chloe took from Martha’s interaction with Clark before. If she wasn’t on the show then Clark would have to make his own conclusions and investigate for himself. Chloe lost her magic seasons ago. I just want SV to be good again. Clark, Lois, Jimmy(make him more like S6 please) and Kara(with some real charter input after no more Chloe and Lana) would make for something great.

Smallville is suffering sagging ratings, Michael Rosenbaum will not be returning in season 8, and now TV guide is reporting that Allison Mack, who portrays Chloe Sullivan, maybe leaving over contract negotiations. Chloe Sullivan is Clark Kent’s long time confidant, popular know it all can do anything heroin, and one of only a handful of characters who knows Clarks super secret identity.
Smallville may need to hold on to Allison, but only because the writers or producers seem stuck in the past. For years now Smallville has retreated again and again to storylines about meteor freaks (humans mutated by Kryptonite) and the tired moral message that keeping secrets is bad (sometimes secrets save us).

But she’s the best looking one in my opinion.
And the show is getting a little odd… to say the least. I guess we will see what happens. I am just hoping that Allison Mack gets all high on Kryptonite or something and wears some revealing clothing.
Go Chloe!
If it ends up not having her in it… C’est la vie. I think the series will suffer more without Lex than Chloe.

I think chloe is a major part of the show and i wouldnt watch it anymore if she werent there. lois and clark dont do anything for me. chloe has had feelings for clark her entire life and its not fair to her if he dates her cousin whom he didnt even get along with in the beginning. chloe is awesome and she is the prettiest girl on the show in my opinion.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it would not be smallville without chloe it would be like all the comic books. i think its time for something different in the comics and i think chloe is exactly what they need. its as simple as that.

In my opinion, Allison Mack helped create a great character and helped carry the show during some of its lowest points. She suffered through horrible plots and her character being sidelined too often. She deserves some recognition. I’m glad to see that her character has been upgraded to being an integral part of Season 8, which looks to restore Smallville to a not just watchable but enjoyable season.

I think alex and chloe play a very big role but if you want anybody out it shouldnt be chloe because chloe is a like eye to clark getting ioformation for him and for alex his bad and sometime good, remember what you sow you reap i think alex should go instead of chloe and again clark always fall in love with a wrong person which suppose oot to be so when talking of love i think you should amend that for chloe.she should the one for clark not lana.

I feel that series eight has completely lost the plot – we are back to phantom zones and phantoms. With regard to Chloe. The hero would be better called Superchloe (not Superman) as Kent throughout the entire series has been clueless and thick. His parents persuade him not to have anything to do with Jorel. He sees Jorel as the enemy – he is totally inept and even seems unintelligent. He rejects his training, he plods from one blunder to another and is very slow to being airborne! His one pre-occupation is with hiding his identity. His sphere of influence is hardly of world importance. although in Metropolis, one would think he was still in Smallville. When is he going to do something!!
