Ronald D. Moore is gearing up for another space adventure - this time with Virtuality from Fox.

The 2-hour backdoor pilot centers around a psych officer, to be played by James D’Arcy, who is in charge of the virtual reality shows designed to keep the crew of Earth’s first starship entertained during their ten year mission.

This is one of those concepts that I’m not really sure about. I don’t quite see how this will be executed in a way that is interesting, since its basically a show about a holodeck. I mean, how are we to care about the peril the characters will be in if we know that the danger isn’t real? If the danger IS real - then why would they ‘entertain’ themselves?

Regardless, its too early to tell just yet, on how this one will play out, but it will be ineteresting to see if Moore and crew can pull it off in a compelling way. They certainly have a good enough track record to give them the benefit of the doubt.
