The Eye is said to have bought up four different dramas and at least one comedy. The one that piques my interest more than anything else this year is the Hugh Jackman-produced ‘Viva Laughlin’, which is a musical (yes, a musical) about a family’s attempt to run a casino. I would love to see how a musical is handled on primetime television.
There’s also a zombie dramedy called ‘Babylon Fields’ that also falls into the “how are they going to pull that off?” category.
TVGuide reported yesterday that ‘Jericho’ will not be picked up, which upsets me a lot. It’s been one of my favorite shows this year, and I really hate to see it go.
Just minutes away from the official report, so stay tuned!!!

A musical on network television will never work. I wish it would, but there is just no way. That’s a bad purchase, in my opinion. It won’t last 6 episodes.

I have to start out by saying I don’t make a habit of watching a single program on CBS. I am genreally unimpressed with what they offer. I DO, however, like some of the bold choices CBS appears to be making with their new programming (or at least it sounds that way in their new programs description). I don’t associate risk taking with CBS. I consider them pretty conservative. I don’t know that CBS’ main audience (those people that for some strange reason watch all the CSIs and NCIS) will flock to them, but we will see.
