The problem I see with this is mainly that the CW doesn't understand its audience.  It seems like no one does these days.  The type of people that watch Gossip Girl online are most likely not the type of people that have Neilsen boxes in their homes.

This, I think, is yet another reason that the Neilsen ratings system has to go.  It's outdated, and does not represent the actual viewing public.  I think it was a good system when there was no alternative - but we're at a point now where almost every single one of us has a digital box in our homes..if we could just flick a switch and contribute to the national "ratings" I think we'd see a very different change in what America actually watches.</description>
