Jay Leno may be heading out when Conan O’Brien takes over “The Tonight Show” next year, but long time rival David Letterman isn’t going anywhere.
The “Late Show” host told the New York Times that he doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon. He’d like to stay on until at least 2010.
Letterman also expressed empathy for Leno and the current situation he’s in with NBC. Letterman compared it to his own troubles with the network 15 years ago that eventually led to him leaving for CBS.
