“Wolverine and the X-Men” is the latest Marvel animated series focused on the “X” franchise. This one has a decidedly “Wolverine” focus (mostly likely because there is a solo Wolverine feature film in production). Cyber Group Animation has a look at the first trailer for the series, which you can find right here.
The trailer is very encouraging. It features the current “Astonishing X-Men” and “Uncanny X-Men” designs from the comics, and has the feel and tone of the 1990s X-Men animated series, which by all accounts, is the absolute best on-screen version of the X-Men…ever.
The animation looks nice, and a bit more polished than some of the recent Marvel direct-to-video flair. We only get to hear bits of the voices in this trailer, but they also sound pretty good. Of all the current animated comic book projects out there right now, this and the new Spider-Man cartoon are looking to be the best of the bunch.
There is no info just yet on when, or where, this animated series will hit television screens.
