Fox has FINALLY decided to cancel the long running (and completely terrible) “MadTV”. It amazes me that the series ran for 14 years, but it is finally being put out of all of our miseries.
What’s sad about the show is that when it first started it wasn’t that bad…in fact, it was pretty great. Will Sasso, Phil Lammar, and a few other really great comedians were on the show, and it did a great job of reflecting the magazine it was based on. Parodies like Woody Allen’s “Die Hard” and a nightmarish version of the Rankin’ Bass “Rudolph” have always been favorites of mine, but sadly, it just didn’t last.
A few seasons in, though, the show just fell flat, and became a pale imitation of “Saturday Night Live”. Now, Fox is axing it, and none of us will have to suffer for much longer.
