Some incredibly cool news coming in today. The departure of my favorite new show ‘Heroes’ for the summer was leaving my days in a perpetual gloom. But Sci Fi Wire is reporting that NBC will run segments of a new series called ‘Heroes: Origins’ in the timeslot occupied by ‘Heroes’ now. From the article:
The new series will center on new characters that haven’t yet been introduced on the original show, and will feature an interactive element. Viewers will have a chance to vote for their favorite character, who will later cross over to the regular Heroes.
This news really excites me. As the article goes on to say, reruns consistently score low ratings, but this is an excellent way to keep viewers. I’m enjoying watching how networks are beginning to keep a show in the consumers’ consciousness over the summer drought…with the ‘Lost Experience’ last year and now this.
The article also says that NBC has ordered six episodes…I wonder if this is all we will be getting, or if we will be getting more when the show is a success.
