I've noticed that whenever I do this, it gets reset where the advance button goes ahead to the end of the recording. Is there any way to ensure that once this is set, it won't reset itself?

@Drew

This info is specific to Comcast TiVo remotes.

For a regular TiVo all you have to do is the following during playback:

Select - Play - Select - 3 - 0 - Select

You will hear 3 bongs, and BOOM - you have a 30 second skip button.

Is that just on the Comcast TiVo remote, or is that on every TiVo remote?
