Someone somewhere stumbled upon the script for the new Jason Biggs/David Cross CBS comedy I’m In Hell.
I expressed my opinion about this show a while back, and having read the script, I don’t know that I can say I think any differently about it. While there were moments when I did find myself chuckling, primarily at Cross’s character Scott and the grungy roommate Fisher, Hell just seems to come off as CBS’s answer to My Name Is Earl. And it’s not a very good answer.
With Earl, the whole motivation is that Earl is trying to make up for his past mistakes. But I’m not even sure where Hell is heading. Is Nick going to spend his time trying to convince the people he meets to change their ways? Is the whole premise that he’s trying to pursue this girl he meets, which is also in the Hell on Earth program? Or is the whole show just an excuse to beat up on Jason Biggs? Because the pilot hits on all of these, but never really establishes specifically where it’s going.
Go check it out for yourself, then come back and let us know what you think!
