You know, the Spears family appears to be a collective of great role models…oh wait…scratch that…

Jamie Lynn Spears, the young sister of “mom of the year” Britney Spears, and star of the Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101″ has announced today that she’s PREGNANT. The girl is 16 years old, and the father, Casey Aldridge (who she met in Church) have decided to keep the baby, and do the “responsible thing”. I feel compelled to state that, while I fully support there decision to keep the child, I think the “responsible thing” to do would have been to NOT get pregnant at 16. Especially when you’re a role model to millions of young girls.

That’s right – even though you and I probably don’t watch “Zoey 101″ the show is one of Nickelodeon’s highest rated series, and is currently wrapping up its 3rd Season. Nick released a statement following the announcement. “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”

My guess is that there won’t be a 4th season of the show.

UPDATE: The 4th season of Zoey 101 has already been shot. It was scheduled to air later in 2008 – there is no word yet on if it will or not.
