Jay Leno has always been my least favorite late-night host. So I was a bit nervous about his appearance on my current favorite late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.

I was totally blown away.

Jay seemed to be so much more laid back that he usually appears on his show. I cracked up at just about every joke he made, and the “Monkey in the Teacup” story had me absolutely rolling.

I think this crossover did exactly what was intended, in that I’m more interested now in checking out The Tonight Show again. And since it now seems that Leno is pretty consistently beating Letterman, despite The Late Show’s benefit of having writers on staff, it’s apparent that he’s doing something right.

Maybe now’s the time to make the switch.
