TVGuide reports that CBS is on the brink of renewing ‘Jericho’.

The rumor is that the post-apocalyptic drama could come back for at least eight episodes, and more than likely at mid-season.  There’s not any official confirmation, but it could happen as early as the end of today.

The show had a serious lack of network support, with it suffering through an almost three month hiatus, and then going up against ‘American Idol’.  When it was not announced in CBS’s fall slate, fans revolted, sending literally tons of nuts to the CBS Corporation’s headquarters.  Here’s hoping ‘Jericho’ will join the slim ranks of shows saved from cancellation by a rabid fanbase.
