NBC held an event this morning showcasing the new Knight Rider project. They showed off the cast, and the new car which, sadly is a Ford Mustang. Even sadder, there is a new voice for K.I.T.T., which is comedian Will Arnett. I’m actually a big fan of Arnett, but his gravely voice is going to be a huge departure from the voice of William Daniels, the original K.I.T.T.
I really with they’d gone with a different choice for that. As a long time Knight Rider fan, I would have loved to have seen someone like John Hodgeman take over the role if they just weren’t going to let William Daniels do it.
Regardless, Justin Bruening (pictured above) plays Mike Tracer, son of Michael Knight in the show. I do have to say that I also don’t understand the reason in making this a sequel. If you’re going to change everything, why not just start this thing over from scratch and have Bruening playing Michael Knight?
All in all, I’m not terribly encouraged by this thing. Maybe it will surprise me.
