Long time SNL cast member, and one of my personal favorites, Maya Rudolph will not be on SNL this weekend due to a lack of contract. Apparently when Maya returned to SNL this season it was without a contract, and she agreed to perform for a few episodes until they hamered one out.

Now, however, since they still have yet to get a contract put together and signed, Rudolph will not be appearing on the show. In here place, Upright Citizen’s Brigade troupe member Casey Wilson will be filling in. Maya has not left the show, however. SNL producer Lorne Michaels told the New York Post, “I’m going to keep calling her until she changes her number.” I don’t know if that means he’s going to bed her to come back without a contract, or if he’s going to get a contract actually worked up.

Also this week, we should find out just who is going to be playing Barack Obama in sketches, and don’t be surprised if its either a new cast member, or a guest star specifically for the role. Right now, none of the current cast really fits the part, so it’ll be interesting to see who fills Barak’s shoes.
