Official Episode Description:

“Frame Toby”
A mysterious person in the office has made a huge mess in the microwave and will not clean it up. Meanwhile, Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) has to come to terms with the fact that there have been certain personnel changes in his staff without his knowing.

tonight’s episode reminded me very much of last year’s “Dinner Party”. That episode was very uncomfortable to watch in its first airing, and so was this one for the most part. The bulk of the episode is taken up with Michael and Dwight trying to find some way of framing Toby to get him fired (after he returns to work without Michael even noticing).

Michael even goes so far as to buy what he thinks is weed in order to plant it into Toby’s desk. Dwight then calls the police - and hilarity ensues. Except - it really wasn’t that funny. It was mean, and had it been real, Toby could have been convicted of a federal offense…and really - that’s just not funny.

Ryan’s departure from the show was also set up, with him saying he was going to take an extended trip with his friends. Hopefully, he’ll never return.

The other main point of the episode was Jim revealing to Pam that he’d purchased his parents house. Jim’s initial walk thru of the house was hilarious - and the clown painting on the wall made me laugh out loud. When Jim showed Pam the house, though it was uncomfortable for several minutes. The entire walk through was just a ball of stress waiting for Pam to freak out, or mask her disappointment or something…instead, though, Pam seemed to genuinely love that Jim bought her a house…which was nice.

Overall, though, this was not the most fun episode to watch. Maybe that will change over repeat viewings - but I doubt it. Every season has to have a low-point. I hope this is it.

Also NBC has posted the first episode of a new “Office Webisode” series on online:

(S05E07) “In the Midnight Hour”

Let’s dive in to tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy. Izzie is still seeing dead people, or more correctly, just Denny. I still hold to the fact that Izzie’s spirit is in some sort of crazy limbo right now and that’s why she can interact with both Denny but still be alive and in a pretty decent relationship with Karev. In time, I expect that distorted line to cross over (pun intended) one direction or another. And, between you and me, in my opinion both death and Denny will be on the winning side.

Sadie’s still crazy. i suspected as much when she first stabbed herself literally in the back, but when she invites Lexi and the other interns to take out her appendix while she all but watched, that pretty much sealed the deal. Amazingly nobody lost their job in the sordid ordeal, but it is possible that Cristina and Meredith just lost the close bond that binds them. Who knew it could take so little? Drama’s good for ratings, but I don’t see this little tiff lasting much past sweeps season.

All other major story lines were a bit dull and drab. A man gave his wife his poop in order to save his life. Now that was more gross that entertaining. Another patient keeps his nine year old awake in fear due to his epileptic sleep walking disorder. Now that was just sad, however, bonus points to Steamy who extended, to my surprise yet again, his tender side by looking out for the young girl by giving her a night of true rest as well as a healthy Dad.

Honestly, overall, nothing truly groundbreaking happened in tonight’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy. And, for any other show, this would be pretty normal and therefore just fine with the average viewer. On Grey’s though, it’s a rare episode when we aren’t shocked, awed, brought to tears and/or laughing out loud. So, did I like tonight’s episode? Sure, it was okay. Can they and will they do better? I’m quite sure of it.

“Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”

We’ve heard it time and time again, yet when it comes to Survivor, no other phrase rings quite as true.

In tonight’s episode the united Nobag went all out to get rid of their own personal “troll” Randy. First, in the auction, Sugar not only went out of her way to up Randy’s bid for beer and peanuts, but also started the big cookie controversy. Just as the tribe members were tired of hearing about it, as am I so I won’t go into that in depth. Let’s just say Sugar held back Randy’s cookie and elementary school drama ensued. Whatever, moving on.

Of the whole group, Corinne was the only one who bought anything worth saving at the auction, when she used all of her money to purchase a leg-up in the immunity challenge. This allowed her to skip straight ahead to the final round of the challenge with only Kenny and Matty as competition. Unfortunately for both Matty and Corinne, skinny and smart Kenny didn’t need much time at all to assemble the pieces and raise his flag mouse-trap style allowing him to take home immunity. Which, by the way, he didn’t for one second need.

Once back at camp, it didn’t take a fool to realize that the irritating Randy was on the chopping block. In a very wise move on Bob’s part a brief alliance was formed between himself and Sugar. One had the real idol, the other had a home crafted one. While still maintaining to keep her own true idol a secret from Bob, Corinne and Randy, Sugar was able to easily convince Bob that it would be in his best interest to pull a quick-one on Randy and offer up his fake idol as the real one.

Now, this is certainly not the first time such a move has occurred on Survivor, and sad as it may be to believe, I’m sure it won’t be the last. But holy-moly when Randy stood up smug and absolutely giddy with happiness and presented that fake idol as his saving grace in tribal I thought I’d pee myself. Speaking of which, I think Sugar or Crystal may have. It was all too funny and too damning for Corinne.

In any case, nasty ol’ Randy is now a very important member of the jury and much to my initial surprise I do believe Miss Sugar may win this yet. We shall see…

“Daisies” shot its last episode last week - and I sincerely hope they have some kind of wrap-up to the series. It’s been a very interesting journey, and you can seriously factor in the “writer’s strike” into the demise of this show.

The others I haven’t followed, so I can’t speak much on - but it’s a shame that the sophomore shows all seem to be getting axed.

Last week’s episode of Bones was the best of the season so far and I hope that Bones continues the momentum it gained last week. I was looking forward to some even more ridiculously mangled corpses and impossible murder plots. This week Bones really delivered on that.

Bones and Booth are on a cross pacific flight to China so that Bones can help investigate an ancient corpse. During the flight, one of the attendants find a cooked corpse shoved into a giant microwave oven. With only four hours to go before their plane touches down in China, our favorite couple springs into action.

Using the magic of the internet (airplane wifi actually working might be the least believable aspect of this episode) Bones contacts the crew back in DC. Using various junk that they commandeer from the passengers, they make various tools McGuyver style.

The victim was a travel writer who had just written an article about pilots who hid drunk driving convictions. The pilot of the plane is actually featured in her article, thus making him the number one suspect. As usual though, the first suspect isn’t the killer. It turns out another man on the plane had an affair with the victim, becoming the new best suspect. Twists and turns lead to a stewardess, a passenger who is a gun nut and finally the son of the victim’s lover. The teenager just wanted his family to be whole again, so he shoved his father’s mistress into a microwave. Nice.

Back at the lab, the relationship between Angela and Roxy is growing and Hodgins is clearly disturbed, but really, who wouldn’t be? This leads to Hodgins digging for information and generally acting like the jilted lover he is. Eventually, the two are forced together finally forceing the moment where Hodgins asks Angela if her bisexuality was the reason they couldn’t make it work. She tells him the truth and he seems to accept it.

Afterward Angela the skank and her new lesbian lover are having drinks. Angela asks Roxy to move in with her. She turns Angela down saying it’s too soon. I’m glad to see Angela get jilted for a change, its a rare moment of karmic justice.

Not a bad episode overall, but the idea that they must solve the mystery before the plane lands is pretty lame and unneeded. I’m certain the Chinese government would intervene in the investigation, but I’m equally certain that they’d be happy to turn the murder of a US citizen over to the FBI.

(S02E06) “Serving Two Masters”

Overall, not bad. Which, if you’ve been counting, is an improvement.

Tonight’s Private Practice was a lesson in letting the cat out of the bag. First, while scoping the bar scene for single ladies the boys stumble across Charlotte. Ready to seize this golden opportunity Cooper convinces Charlotte to go home with him, causing quite a scene both outside of work and in. As is status quo in the Private Practice office, his secret relationship doesn’t stay secret for long when the rest of the team quickly realize that this coupling has been going on much longer than a one night fling. Not soon after, Violet discovers that Charlotte is the person responsible for the construction upstairs. Now, if only Cooper was as adept at discovery.

Next thing you know Addison is chasing down S.W.A.T. man (cough, still in the same shirt, cough) after suspecting him of infidelity shortly after the poor man said a one-sided “I love you.” Now, is that any way to treat a budding romance? It’s clear that this one-time cheater has a trust issue. Luckily for all involved S.W.A.T. guy (I know he has a name, but until he gets a new shirt get used to it) is completely forgiving once Addison admits to how her past infidelity set her up for future fears.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of all came when the persistent Dell shows his daughter into Daddy’s “office.” While this one time storage space wouldn’t fool any self respecting adult patient, baby girl is delighted at all that Dad’s achieved since they parted ways. Of course, just like the rest of the characters, I was shocked and yet delighted at Dell’s new role as Papa. Depth, it’s what they all need.

Oh yea, and of course, there were the usual crazy, complicated patients. A man with two pregnant wives who just now meet, gotta love it.

Or not, I’m still deciding.

Now that House and Wilson have reconciled and the Cuddy/ House romance has stalled, I wonder what other subterfuge House is going to throw at us this week. Well, other than an inexplicable sickness that perhaps a total of 15 people worldwide have ever gotten which is then solved through a combination of sarcasm, cruelty and the constant belittling of House’s team. As it turns out, its the ever awesome Foreman who is the focus.

A teenage female employee of a steel factory goes down on the assembly line with a frothy blood coming out of her mouth. The sixteen year old girl is living on her own and seems to be a healthy and responsible kid. Of coarse House decides that the kid must be hiding something. Kutner tries to develop a relationship with her and independent of the group decides to give her steroids. A bad idea as the patient flips out and has to be restrained.

At the same time, Foreman asks House for permission to work on a clinical trial. Not surprisingly, House shoots him down. House begins giving Foreman busy work, intentionally pissing him off. Foreman decides to go rouge. He starts working on his own trying to diagnosis a boy who also has a mysterious illness. He is trying to out-House House. Obviously, House will have none of it and attempts to derail his independence.

Despite House’s attempts Foreman insists on trying to treat two patients at the same time. Its a dangerous and stressful situation of Foreman. The little boy patient spirals down and nearly dies. At the same time, the teenager is still as much of a mystery as when she came in. Eventually they discover that she needs a bone marrow transplant. That means they need her parents in order to get the best match. She tells them her father raped her and she doesn’t want any contact with her parents. Thirteen goes to her parents and finds that the patient is still lying to her and that the people she claims are her parents are not.

Now, House goes to her and drills the teenager about all the lies she’s been telling. She finally spills the beans and the solution is revealed. She was responsible for her brother‘s death when she was supposed to be caring for him and she ran away in the aftermath. Finally they crew calls her parents for the marrow.

Foreman reaches out to House for help with the patient he’s treating behind his back and he refuses. Now without options, Foreman is backed into a corner, which as we know, is when the doctors get their inspiration. Turns out the little kid had an iron overdose because his older brother gave him too many vitamins. Foreman is vindicated and House relents, allowing him to be involved in the clinical trial.

Its good to see Foreman get some run as I find him one of the better characters on the show. This episode lacked some of the spark that the last few weeks had, but was totally satisfying regardless.

What does that have to do with television?

I’m getting there.

Rogen has decided to branch out into the world of TV with his newest project. It’s a series for Showtime about 3 guys that run a porno store. There is no word yet on a title, air date, or if Rogen himself will be onscreen on the series at all, but more information will be coming soon.

There are still 4 episodes of the series set to air on NBC, and after that time the execs will look at the numbers and decide what to do with the Brooke Shields led series.
