You know, MTV used to mean something…I remember when kids demanded “I want my MTV!”. I remember when the channel finally came to our small Central Texas community - and I remember when they used to run programming that didn’t suck and blow at the same time.

It’s been a lot of years since the channel has been watchable in my opinion, and I don’t think it’s just because I’m getting older. The quality of shows the channel produces has gone in the toilet over the past decade or so, and it’s really sad.

This is the channel that ran experimental animation like Aeon Flux and The Maxx! This was a channel that pioneered Reality TV and made us think, foolishly, that it could actually be worth watching!

ugh.

Anyway, MTV has not only greenlit a second season of the bi-sexual “bachelorette” show ‘A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila’ (since her relationship with the winner of the first season didn’t work out - *shocker*), but they are so impressed with the show that they are entering into a major deal with the production company to produce more shows for the network.

MTV - what the hell happened to you?
