You can find my review of part one here part two here.

The third and final chapter of Tin Man opens with their quest taking them to the realm of The Unwanted, on a quest to find D.G’s father. Tutor (toto) is exposed, and forced to shape shift into a dog.

Meanwhile, The Sorceress finally gets a little dimension to her, as we find out that the Wicked Witch is basically living inside her, and the two talk to one another from time to time.

The cast eventually gets separated, with D.G. going with her father, and the rest being captured, then rescued by the Tin Man’s son and his merry men.

This final act of Tin Man moves the quickest of the the three installments, and is much more interesting throughout.

The connection to Dorothy Gale and the original Wizard of Oz universe was an interesting choice, and I think it worked out well, although it is almost sad to think that the original Oz has turned into the world of The O.Z.

I think to that, the more invested you become with the characters, the more forgiving you become of the plot. There are certain elements of this final chapter that are just as bad as the first episode, like the dialogue for instance, but they don’t seem to quite as annoying this time around.

I’m not going to spoil the entire end of the mini-series here, but I did find it to be a satisfying ending for the show, and if they make a sequel (which they will if they kept anything close to those record breaking ratings on Sunday night), I’ll check it out.

I didn’t immediately get into this universe, and if I hadn’t been reviewing it for the site, I wouldn’t have watched enough of it to get into it. So, in a way, I’m glad I had to sit through the whole thing, but I don’t love it – but I do like it. Having said that – you shouldn’t have to invest 4 hours into something to get into it, in my opinion.

So Tin Man is ultimately a very mixed bag for me. If you’re a sci-fi or Oz nut, you’ll want to at least give it a try, but if you do skip it – life will go on, and you’ll be just fine.
