So, with Martha Kent having left the show, and Jonathan Kent having been killed (both of which were really stupid ideas), Smallville is desperate to maintain that “family” aspect of the series. To that end, they have brought Clark’s cousin, Kara, in this season - and also, as it has been heavily reported, his mother will be appearing as well.
Played by Helen Slater, the very same actress who played Supergirl in that terrible terrible movie, Clark’s mother, Lara will be featured in the 6h episode of the series, along with Clark’s uncle, Zor-El.
In the episode, Kara has been kidnapped by the government, and injected with a Kryptonite based “truth serum” that causes her to have flashbacks to a previous visit to Earth, where Lara and Zor-El were actually at the Kent farm.
Meanwhile, Chloe learns of a secret that Lana has been keeping from Clark - and Lex is fascinated by Kara’s crystal.
On a personal note, Smallville, which used to be a favorite show of mine, is really stretching out in the wrong directions this year (in my opinion, at least). As a result - I’m not loving as much as I used to.

I agree with your comments. There seems to be something missing this year. The tender moments between Clark / Lana and Clark/Martha are so needed for this season.

Agreed. The show has always been a little ridiculous, but in a fun, schlocky way. A lot of schlock departed with Mr. And Mrs. Kent. And where’s Lionel??

Yah, I don’t know why but it seems people are starting to wish Lana would just die already.
I don’t really care, but yah.. I’ve been wanting some Lois action. I mean, everyone knows her and Clark eventually somehow will end up together (Smallville really follows the Superman story line, just at a leisurely pace…). I just keep thinking “oh! this is where it happens! this is where they finally realize they’re destined for each other!” But no, it keeps going back to Lana.. over and over. I guess in that respect she does annoy the hell out of me.
I love this season so far, by the way. I don’t really think there is a ‘wrong’ direction in this sort of film. I mean, the basic appeal of it is for things to just be unreal.. So as long as the show doesn’t turn into a reality show (lol) it’ll keep me watchin.
Never cared much for the family tho. Maybe it’s because they seemed to serve no purpose to the plot.. If they had both died, the storyline wouldn’t really change. I like the cousin tho.. I like the fact that everyone in Smallville is hot.. now if the cousin had been some ugly hair shemale lookin thing.. maybe I’d be a lil pissed off.

welll personally the show isnt going bad at all it just keeps getting better and better…clarks not destined to be wit lois shes preety and all but i cant see her wit him based on her personality…this show between clark and lana just proves how much they actually love eachother and that just makes romance exiting..yes u prefer him without other people but where is the chemistry…i dont fnd lana annoying i find her rly smart in this season and she mite even revel secrets we dont no…not only has she even decided to let clark go she has much respect for him more then lois can even care for him…thats why i personally think lana is good for clark and lois isnt..i look at the good side of things and thats my idea of seeing things..when clarks father died (jonathan kent) it made clark realize that no matter wat,he will lose the ppl he loves so that pushes him more to determine his destiny and thats where it will even get more exciting each season gives clues on wat will become..im just excited to see the ending of it all witch path he chooses…anyways thats how i see it!

I agree wit Jessica. I dont think lois will ever care for clark the way lana does. dont get me wrong lois is great but i dont see her wit clark. if Smallville does fall under the Superman storyline( which it does but somewat slowly) lois and clark can’t never be together. according to the story of Superman, Clark will die before he reveals his secret that he’s actually the superman to lois. And as for lois’s character She falls in love with The Superman who goes around and saves the world not the geeky, farmboy clark. So I think Clark deserves to be wit Lana just cuz she loves him for who he is (a farmboy..lol) and now that she know his secret their love becomes that much stronger. I just wish they had some passionate scene like the ones in season 5. I miss the chemistry between them…I guess the writer and producers wants us the “clana lovers” to get over their love..so it will be easier for us when lana dies and clark shifts his feelings towards lois.

I also think Lois n Clark should get more emotional scenes together it’s time for Clark n Lana too end since Lana is evil now… and the Clois to start, I think Clois will b cute I like how Lois is always Sarcastic n calls him Smallville

hei …. for me smallville is a great show and i totally understand why they can’t jump from clark+lana to clark+lois (it will totally look like a rebound in this moments, since clark hasn’t developed all his feelings for lois, he just thinks she’s hot, as he stablished in crimson), although i can’t wait when he finally realizes he is in loved with lois, because it is what will follow in the superman storyline. Lois for me is so much better than Lana (she’s alright but i don’t like her with clark any longer !!), Lois+Clark will make the show closer to the superman storyline !!! It will be great to show some cute moments between them, just like some sparks …

I totally agree i used to like lana but as soon as lois came on i got tired of lana. Lois is independent and not such a damsel in distress like lana. Lois and Clark would be such a hot couple and they are so cute together. He saves her when she needs him and she didn’t turn scary evil like lana. I think they should get rid of Kara though. She is ruining the show! But i think that Lois and Clark will end up together because they remind me very much of Pacey and Joey from Dawson’s Creek.

omg i agree with everything Kelleigh said! And i love joey/pacey and clark/lois. But i know in the end they will end up together b/c its based on superman so obviously clark and lois DUH! aND lANA IS JUST SOOOO freaky now.

OK I agree with 90% of you all. Yet my biggest complaint is the lack of glasses with clark. cause lets see, everyone has seen the “getting older” clark with out his geeky glasses… So I am finding it hard for lex and lois not to notice that hey its clark in spandex. I could get it maybe if lois was blinded buy the “hot body” concept (and no i am not gay) but for the super smart lex not to say hey, its clark. i am having issues with it… I thought for sure the glasses were gonna be involved when he lost his sight, but of course not.
So i have had a major beef with the glasses thing since he graduated. I get what they are trying to do but ya know I am not feeling it… season 5 was the greatest in my eyes but now it has felt like its going down hill…
I think they might could make the next step (if it ends at season
call the series Metroplis, basicly clarks struggle to get a hand on settling in to the city life and ajusting to the super sneaky hands in everything…
Also lana cant freakin die, she was supposed to be the first crush, not the first super bang (when she got his powers…) it was about the one that got away, and a crush only… the only way i see all this mess cleaning itself up is if somehow the history they all have had with clark gets erased, but that creates a paradox so to speak, cause some of the things that have happened to lex was thanks to the lack of the kent family trust. How lex felt that everyone couldnt see past that luthor name. SO he was hurt.
Put yourself in lex’s shoes if everyone was telling you that you were just an evil family and you were no different that with every little slip up you were branded even further eventually you give in and say ok you want it you got it…
Im just amazed… Plus the JLA thing, I cant help but wonder if they might slip a bruce wayne hit or 2 in a few episodes as well as wonder woman… I mean dang, they brought in MM, green arrow, thf flash, cyborg, and good ol AC…
So I kinda feel it train has went off course way too far to recover, unless they all loose the “clark experiance” from their mind. so lets bring it back just a tad, I think introducing a young BW would be cool, BW and lex going at it would be great, million dollar virbal and mental chess games between the two…
Anyway that is it for my rant, remember its only my opinion…. we all have our different views…

Well i love Lois and Clark “Clois” an Kara does need to leave they don’t need new weird characters. Obvi, Clois will end up together cause thats how it is, and well they are a good couple. Lana is very strange and should have died or be phased out of the show like Julie from Felicity. That’s just my opinion but it should count because i have beenm watching Smallville since season one when i was in fifth grade. I have seen the Lana clark roller coaster of love and it has been played out one of them needs to leave and it obviously won’t be Clark.

I really dislike how long they’ve kept the Lana and Clark romance going. While i don’t dislike Lana at all, I feel like the romance between them is just so…overused and BORING. When I learned that Clark and Lana were once again in a relationship, I nearly screamed in fusteration becasue I really like Smallville, but hate how repetitive their relationship is. Its played out and needs to find an end…

I agree, love between Lana & Clark is played out. New season should not include that pathetic excuse for a relationship between Clark and Lana, it’s getting pathetic. How many times could the writers possibly include that concept jeez. Must be a WB wholesome family thing, i mean seriously. Smallville is on the WB, and it is wholesome family entertainment. Hope the new season adds a certain accessory to our protagonist you know say a pair of glasses…

Lana & Clark need to be over NOW! I’m sssoooooo tired of them. They were good in their time, but thats over. I love smallville! I own every season thats out. But if i have to watch one more episode with Clark still being in love with Lana, i think i’ll just scream. He needs to get over her already
