Yes…this is really what it looks like…
100 Word Review: I haven’t actually sat and watched an animated series and felt completely embarrassed for everyone involved in the show…at least, until now. The idea that one of the biggest summer blockbuster hopefuls of 2008 is being backed up by a cartoon that is this embarrassingly bad is just…sad, really. The series is set at an academy run by a now middle-aged version of Speed Racer’s little brother, and revolves around the sons of Speed Racer. It has a budget of about $12, and looks like someone produced it on a home computer by themselves. Just awful.

For someone who watches The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and WWE, Michael, this show is not for you. Clearly you prefer satirical cartoons written for an older crowd and soap operas involving men in tiny underwear and not cartoons made for kids. It is understandable that you cannot relate to a children’s cartoon show.
I liked what I saw, and am excited and waiting for the rest of the story to reveal itself. The theme song is way better than that of the movie. Your review does not do the Speed Racer justice.

Let me give you a run down of the cartoons that I watch on a daily, or weekly basis with my 4 year old (and enjoy):
Backyardigans, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Ducktales, Dora The Explorer, Ni Hao, Kai-lan, TMNT, Ben 10, Chop Socky Chooks, The Mighty B, Voltron and many more.
You’re not likely to find a grown man that watches (and enjoys) more children’s cartoons that I do.
This show is terrible, and embarrassingly low budget. If you enjoyed it - or if you work for the company producing it and want to plant a positive comment under this review
- more power to you - but you better grab the DVDs of it while you can, because its destined for the bargain bin.

The Wachowski bros certainly put a lot of effort into making Speed Racer… the movie overall looked and felt like a cross between anime, a kaleidoscope, that Flintstones movie, a video game and the Dukes of Hazard

You are so wrong!!!!!!!! Speed Racer the Next Generation is VERY AMAZING. I love this show. Want to know the problem with yours and every other critic’s problem? You for get what age group it’s ment for. And by the way the animation is great. Execept for the explotion on the ice road.
