We haven’t talked much about the HUGE upset Sunday night as the Giants swatted down the Patriots’ undefeated season 17-14.

The game itself, along with the commercials, was pretty boring…up until the last 10 minutes. When Eli somehow managed to scramble out of the mob of Pat defenders and threw a bomb down the field, I turned to the guys I was watching the game with and said, “That’s going to be the play that we see on highlight reels 15 years from now.” Sure enough, that play turned the game around.

But I digress…we’re not a sports blog.

Sunday’s game pulled in the highest ratings for any Super Bowl ever, but that’s not the big news. What’s amazing is that Super Bowl XLII was the second highest rated show in history. It averaged around 97.5 million viewers, second only to M*A*S*H’s 1983 finale, which averaged 106 million.

On a side note, I don’t guess I had ever realized how much of a viewership M*A*S*H had. When you consider that this record is 25 years old and still unbroken…that’s an amazing feat.
