Rumblings across the web have have made their way to TV Guide, and there is concern that Tom Welling may not return for a 9th season of “Smallville”.
Now, if you’d told me that last year I would have said “good”. After watching this season, however, I can truly say that I hope he changes his mind. Welling is not contracted for season 9 of the series, and while I can understand being ready to move on after having played the role for so many years, the show is the best its ever been – and I’d hate to lose now.
Unless, of course, they have him play Superman in a movie that grows out of the “Smallville” series. It’s unlikely that will happen – but if it did, the concept of Superman could be easily worked in with the “Smallville” cast – and re-introduced to an audience as a new feature film, without having to worry about the baggage of the series.
A Superman film doesn’t need a major all-star cast to be a success – it needs a great Superman story, with a group of talented actors, and “Smallville” already has that in place.
It’ll never happen – but with the right director and writer, it could be awesome.

It is time for Smallville to end. This is a cut and past season 8. It is time for the team to wrap things up. The viewers are tired of the same plots and line. Lois is a pain to watch, she can’t act and has no talent other those inflated plastic boobs.

Dale, I think you should speak for yourself, because most Smallville fans can’t wait for season 9. I think it’s going to happen, and I wish people who don’t want to see it would just stop watching the show, and being ugly about the actors, plot, and ….. If you don’t like the show don’t watch. There’s no reason to spoil it for people who still enjoy it.

I actually read somewhere that Tom Welling is is talks with the show to do a season 9. I’m glad that Lana is finally gone. her time was over a long time ago. I want to see Lois and Clark start something. I love smallville and hope it continues for 5 more seasons.

I Agree with “Miranda” I hope Season 9appens hell I wish season 10 also but least all of season 9. & those who think small ville should be over you do have a right to your opinion, but why put one down if you think its wasting time? so you know go F yourselves those who don’t like the show I love it. i have watched all of it from season 1-recent 3 times the recent ones only twice.
I hope to God Tom Welling re-signs cause it will be kinda awkward to have a new Clark Kent.

For those who don’t like Smallville, they made and on/off switch and a channel changer for all TV’s. As for the rest of us, LETS KEEP THE GOOD STUFF GOING.. Season 9 – YEA.. Tom, we need you man.. The rest of the cast, we need you as well. Bring it all back. We need to keep it all going till the cast moves into a Superman movie and then we can continue on in the movies..

season eight of smallville is the best ever I pray Tom will renew his contract for a season 9 of Smallville. he is so good on the show especially in season 8 of this yr. so I think smallville should continue for another yr. or 2 because it would be a shame for the show to leave it is the only thing I look forward to on Thursdays. I am a big fan of the show & of Tom & I think he should renew his contract for another season it would make a lot of fans happy.

If Tom Welling leaves the set of Smallville, the show will lose all it’s creditability and all the hard work that Tom Welling worked so effortlessly these past 8 seasons. So please Tom Welling consider what the TV world lose as well as for the sake of Humanity, don’t walk of the set of Smallville!!!!.

I think we need another season of Smallville! i just can’t get enough and Smallville is a great show! Tom Welling does a really good job at the part and he should be mature enough to make his own decisions. although i want him to stay on the show, i just hopes he knows what he is doing!

I’m a resident of South Africa. Unfortunately we haven’t even seen S8 of SMALLVILLE yet, but Ican’t wait!!! Long story shortened: I suffered a massive stroke years ago. Smallville helped me claim back my health – more over … Tom Welling inspired me to survive a 40% chance. THANKS TOM!!! Forever in your debt. KEEP GOING!!!

Its time for smallville to end. But I guess tom will sign because he never does movies or interviews or networks with any other stars. Yawn! Hes cute but boring. I get the feeling hes an unfriendly guy, very exclusive. No one on the show ever says anything about him. In fact none of the cast ever gives interviews and if they leave the show they disappear even the one who played lex. No movies no nothing and no one seems interested in them either ,makes me wonder. Tom did the FOG and thats going on years ago now . I would like to see him do something else like play more evil characters hes good at that because it edges him in an exciting way. Tom don’t let ben barnes steal your thunder or rob pattinson cause they’re gonna if you dont do something.

First of all. newsflash season 9 is fantastic. ok Clark is kicking butt. Not only that there is gonna be a two hour smallville event. There has been a recent interview with the girl that plays chloe and she say tom has signed on to do a tenth season. If you don’t want it to continue after ten it’s going to stop anyways. But i have been a fan from the beginning a real fan wouldn’t cry and complain about the quality of the show. If you don’t like it go watch gossip girl.

hi guys in really agree with everyone who wants season 9 to happen and for Tom Welling to renew his contract we’ve gotten so use to him that it really would be strange if he was left out of any season.

It is time for Tom Welling to become Superman and put on the red and blue. The show has been on for a long time and is the best comic book adaptation I’ve ever seen but Im sure that the cast as great as they are, are getting tired of doing the show. If Tom doesn’t return the series will be blown. It’s to early to hang up your cape Tom, you haven’t even put it on. At least do one more season and end it with a bang and give the people what they’ve been waiting for. Superman!!!
