The Nick at Nite spinoff network is bringing in some fresh faces. Variety is reporting that TV Land has scooped up the off-network rights to ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, which will premiere on August 7 at the Tuesday night 11 p.m. slot. This follows in the transition that the network has been making away from “classic” programming and into some more modern shows.

This seems like a fantastic move on TV Land’s part. The feel-good reality show easily fits in with the rest of the programming on the “classic” network, and, where a lot of TV Land’s programming is somewhat serialized, ‘Makeover’s ability to stand on its own will be a definite bonus. It’ll be interesting to see how a reality show performs in reruns.
