At the premiere of his new film “Run Fat Boy Run”, former Friend, David Schwimmer was adamant when asked about a possible “Friends” reunion that he just won’t do it.
“It was ten years ago - and it’s time to move on.” says the former star.
While I don’t think a Friends reunion is ever necessary, I can already tell you that there will come a day when Schwimmer retracts this statement. The only Friend who seems to be doing terribly well at the box office is Jennifer Aniston, and I seriously doubt “Fat Boy” is going to change things for Schwimmer.
Should there be a Friends reunion movie or special? Well…let me ask you this…should there have been TWO Dukes of Hazard Reunion movies?
My point is that it doesn’t matter if it SHOULD happen or not. Chances are it will.

31 NO CommentsAwesome. We’ve got ourselves a good old-fashioned showdown.
Apple® today announced that it will not be selling NBC television shows for the upcoming television season on its online iTunes® Store (www.itunes.com). The move follows NBC’s decision to not renew its agreement with iTunes after Apple declined to pay more than double the wholesale price for each NBC TV episode, which would have resulted in the retail price to consumers increasing to $4.99 per episode from the current $1.99. ABC, CBS, FOX and The CW, along with more than 50 cable networks, are signed up to sell TV shows from their upcoming season on iTunes at $1.99 per episode.
“We are disappointed to see NBC leave iTunes because we would not agree to their dramatic price increase,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes. “We hope they will change their minds and offer their TV shows to the tens of millions of iTunes customers.”
Apple’s agreement with NBC ends in December. Since NBC would withdraw their shows in the middle of the television season, Apple has decided to not offer NBC TV shows for the upcoming television season beginning in September. NBC supplied iTunes with three of its 10 best selling TV shows last season, accounting for 30 percent of iTunes TV show sales.
Big kudos to Jobs and gang for standing their ground on this one. I’m thinking that NBC was betting on Apple not wanting to lose 30% of their television sales and expected them to back down. Props to Apple for sticking to their guns.
We haven’t heard the last on this, for sure.

13 2 CommentsMy TV viewing schedule lives and dies by my DVR. I very rarely watch anything live since I’m usually not even in front of the television until well after all the networks have finished their primetime runs. I think the concept of traditional television viewing is going to be drastically different in the coming years, and the changes we are witnessing now will shape our habits in the future. So the ways that networks are confronting the problems that advertisers face in regards to DVR viewings really appeal to me.
Later this year, Time Warner Cable will be introducing a new service called “Look Back”. This enables viewers to rewind or start over any program they have recorded. And it’s offered completely free.
The service is not without limitations, though. Viewers are not allowed to fast forward through commercials, which I have no problem with. I’ve already seen several in the blogosphere up in arms about how this is taking away a huge draw of the DVR, but this isn’t designed for those consumers. This is designed for the casual TV viewer.
Also, the viewer only has through midnight the day of the showing to watch the program before it’s lost. This, I’m not such a fan of. If the viewer is still going to be “slaved” to the commercials, why should it matter if they watch it a day or two later? The ad is still getting watched. I wish they would expand this viewing time out a little bit.
The service will launch for South Carolina customers in October, and will branch out from there.

Friday we told you that Ausiello was reporting that Veronica Mars‘ star Kristen Bell was in talks with ABC to take on a role in the new season of Lost.
Ausiello confirmed over the weekend that it’s untrue. She was approached by the network, but she turned it down. Rumor on the skreet is that she’s wanting to keep her options open to take over the lead role in Broadway’s Legally Blonde this February.
