Then, we see another group of fanpeople going absolutely insane over something and we think…”wow, those people are crazy” without ever realizing that we are also crazy.

Take Jeopardy fans. Earlier this year the Jeopardy “Think Music” was changed ever so slightly. So slight was the change, in fact, that upon hearing it I couldn’t tell that anything had actually changed. Then, thanks to the magic of YouTube, I heard the music as it has been for the last decade, and sure – there is a change there…but it’s nothing to get excited about.

Unless, of course, you are hard core Jeopard fan. Some fans are getting so upset that they’re petitioning the show to revert back to the old music, others are writing blog posts about things HAVE to go back to the way they were. That’s not going to happen, of course. Like all fanpeople – in a few weeks they’ll move on to something else (just as I will eventually accept the new Enterprise) and Jeopardy will role on.
