Cartoon Network announced during a special “Alien X” episode of the popular “Ben 10″ series this weekend that “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” would premiere on the network on October 3rd, 2008 at 9:00 pm EST.
The show recently made its debut on the big screen, and was met with decidedly “mixed” reviews. Personally, I enjoyed the film, and my daughter (arguably the target demo – not sure if they ever “target” girls for this type of thing) really enjoyed it, and was looking forward to watching the tv series.
I’m actually kind of surprised to see its coming so soon. The network promises a new adventure ever week, and the trailer they showed during the “Ben 10″ episode looked even better than the trailer for the movie – so I’m excited to see where they go with it.

The Associated Press has published an absolutely disgusting article that is appearing on sites all over the web. You can find the article here on Yahoo News, but I don’t dare quote the thing due to The APs insistence on trying to rake bloggers over the coals for promoting their articles.
Normally I steer clear of stuff written by the AP for that very reason, but here, Entertainment Writer “Josh Dickey” has decided to write up a story that insinuates and speculates that Anakin Skywalker is going to cheat on his wife with a young teenager – even going so far as to call the character of Ahsoka a “Lolita”, and thats just inexcusable.
“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is an upcoming Cartoon Network show FOR KIDS. I have seen the movie (which is obviously paced to be broken up into 4 episodes of the show) and there is absolutely NO indication that Anakin is secretly pinning for this young girl, or that she has any feelings toward him what-so-ever.
Even suggesting this just comes off as filthy and in bad taste to me. I saw this movie with my 5 year old daughter, and she absolutely loved the character of Ahsoka and is looking forward to this show. This KIDS SHOW.
There is absolutely NO WAY that George Lucas or anyone else involved in this film or series has any intention of Anakin Skywalker cheating on his wife with an under-age girl.
I think Mr. Dickey might needs some time on a couch with a therapist – because there is clearly something wrong upstairs.
