That’s right, kids…that swooning swashbuckler who took down the second Death Star is again guest starring in an ABC prime-time drama. Billy Dee Williams will appear in an upcoming episode of Private Practice, playing a man who “has been dutifully caring for his lady as she sings the blues (his wife is addled by dementia-type symptoms), yet he has been doing so with selfless disregard for his own declining health.”
As you know, Billy Dee makes everything he touches cooler just by association. He was in Empire Strikes Back, widely regarded as the best Star Wars movie…he was in Ladies Man, widely regarded as the best starring-Tim Meadows movie…and he was in my personal favorite, though widely panned Lost episode, “Exposé”.
So, you’ve got a couple of months to brace yourself for the awesomeness of Billy Dee. Be prepared.

For those of you who don’t like Spoilers, you should just stop reading right now, because there are some big spoilers in this post about the 8th season of Smallville.
They start…now.
Ok, the Comi-Con panel was wild, with many guest asking for actor’s name cards, and all kinds of other shenanigans, but the big info came from the talks about season 8, where the creative team behind the show was candid, and very revealing. Here are some highlights
* Season 8 still has a “No Tights” rule, but “No Flights” may be off the card
* Sam Witwer will play “Justin Bloom” who becomes Doomsday during blackouts.
* Clark will begin working on a secret identity this season, and use the Daily Planet as a resource for finding people that need his help.
* Michael Rosenbaum will NOT be returning this season, but the door is always open to him (and Same Jones as well) should he wish to return..
* The Legion of Super-Heroes will appear on the show this season, as will the Justice League (who will show up in the season opener).
* There will be more exploration of the Green Arrow character this season - who is now a regular cast member.
Originally I had heard that Rosenbaum was going to make an appearance this season, at least for an episode or two, but apparently that didn’t work out. It looks like things are getting a much needed shake-up on Smallville this year, and I can’t wait to see where they go from here.

Brenda Strong may be the voice of “Desperate Housewives” as Mary Alice, but she likes to to be on screen every now and again too.
To that end, Strong has agreed to appear on “Boston Legal” as a judge who presides over one of Crane, Poole & Schmidt’s big cases. According to TV Guide’s exclusive report the episode shoots this week.

“Pushing Daisies” was one of the greatest shows to appear last season, and it was cut far too short by the Writer’s Strike. Season 2, however, is shaping up, and at Comi-Con we got a little bit of news from series creator Bryan Fuller.
Fuller revealed that Mary Ann Marie Beetle, a character from the “Muffin Buffalo” episode of
“Wonderfalls” will be appearing in a season 2 episode of “Pushing Daisies.
Fuller went on to say that he’d love to have Jaye Tyler appear on “Daisies” as well at some point.
In casting news, we also found out that David Arquette has been cast as Ned’s new best friend on the series. There is no word on if this is a guest star role for an episode or a recurring character.

28 NO CommentsNBC has graciously posted both “The Office” and “Heroes” Comi-con panels in their entirety, which you can watch below.
They run close to an hour each, so you’ll be here for a while if you watch them, but if you’re a hardcore fan, you’ll love it…
Things are looking very interesting for both shows.

Today NBC revealed the new “Attack Mode” for K.I.T.T. on the upcoming “Knight Rider” series. The show is being produced by the writer of “The Fast and the Furious” so I don’t know why I should be surprised, but this new “Attack Mode” is obviously inspired by the types of cars that appear in those films.
The online fan community is already unimpressed mixed, but that means little to the people responsible for the show. Obviously if there were enough “Knight Rider” fans out there already the show would still be on the air, so the producers aren’t looking to please the original fans…but rather bring in a new generations of fans.
Will this car do it?
I don’t know…but I don’t care much for it myself. I’m not the target demographic though, so who knows?

23 NO CommentsNBC is going out of its way to make sure that viewers are aware that the “Knight Rider” series coming in September is going to be different from the 2-hour movie we saw in Jan.
In these promos we hear KITT with a cocky attitude, and even get a hint at the “Turbo Boost” to come.
The issue of over-Fording the show with too much product placement has also been addressed, and I think “Knight Rider” fans are going to be in for something special.

More details have been released about the upcoming Amy Poehler based sitcom coming to NBC from the same producing team as the US version of “The Office”.
Poehler’s new sitcom will be shot in the same style as “The Office” but it will not be in any way related to the show. The spin-off that has been long rumored is still in development and will be going ahead as well.
So if the Poehler show is successful, and the Office spin-off actually makes it to air - we’ll have 3 shows on at once shot in the same format. Is it just me, or could that be too much of a good thing?
We’ll just have to wait and see.

Former WWE and current TNA Wrestling star Matt Morgan is joining the cast of American Gladiators next week as a character called “The Beast”. With Morgan reaching almost 7ft in height, and clocking in at 318 lbs - its not hard to see why they call him that.
American Gladiators continues to be a favorite around my house, although we have been watching it less this season than last.
Still, as the semi finals heat up, its a mainstay of our DVR. Check it out on Monday nights.
