Tim McGraw to host “Saturday Night Live”

Country music star Tim McGraw is joining the ranks of Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton as Country music stars to host the long running sketch comedy staple that is “Saturday Night Live”.

McGraw is the first Country star to host the show this decade, so it’s been a while…but he has been trying his hand more and more at acting recently, and this could end up being a memorable episode.

While McGraw will be acting (and promoting his new film “Four Christmases”) he won’t be the musical guest. So who will be?

Ludacris and T-Pain will be doing the duty. Sounds like a great match right?

Jon Hamm proves to be hilarious on SNL

I have to admit – I’ve never watched an episode of “Mad Men”. Most people haven’t – actually – because the show hasn’t done great in the ratings. It’s a critical darling, though, and on Saturday Night, I’m pretty sure they upped their viewership by a few thanks to the hilarious performance of Jon Hamm on SNL.

We all know that SNL can be hit or miss, but this week it was “on” and much of the show was laugh-out-out funny.

My favorite of the night was “Jon Hamm’s John Ham” which was about a ham dispenser for bathrooms including “mustard soap”. It ended with the catch phrase “remember…if it looks like a piece of ham…don’t wipe your ass with it”

Other skits include “Two A-holes go to an Ad Agency in the 1960s” and the “Campaign Ads” above. It was well worth watching, and probably the best SNL of the season thus far.

VIDEOS: The Real Sarah Palin on SNL

On Saturday night Alaskan Governor and Vice Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin appeared on Saturday Night Live – bringing in record numbers for the show. Both of the skits that she appeared in were moderately funny – but the “Cold Open” is far better than the “Palin Rap” from the “Weekend Update” segment.

Here you can see both segments in their entirety.

Tina Fey reprises Sarah Palin role on SNL

If you’re looking for video of Tina Fey jumping back into the shoes of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin look no further. The comedian opened SNL again this weekend with a play on Palin’s interview with Katie Couric (played by the very pregnant Amy Pohler)

I have to admit that I love SNL. I have always loved SNL, and I always WILL love SNL. I love the original cast, I love the Christopher Guest/Billy Crystal season, I love Mike Myers, Will Farrell, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers, Tina Fey, Amy Pohler – you name it. I love the damn show and there is nothing I can do about it.

SO – I’m excited to see that they’re coming out with guns blazing this season.

Michael Phelps was the star of the summer, and he’s going to be hosting the premiere episode of the 34th season of the long running late night show. You can bet executives will be watching this episode closely. If Phelps shows even the SLIGHTEST bit of acting talent he’ll be cast as Aquaman or Namor (Marvel Comics under water character) in a matter of minutes.

I can’t wait to see what kind of job he does.
