The news comes in today that Stan Daniels, who was a writer for The Mary Tyler Moore Show and a co-creator and exec producer for Taxi, passed away April 6 of heart failure.

Some of my earliest and best television memories were watching reruns of those two exact shows with my parents, and I think that a lot of my passion for TV stems directly from those experiences.  Taxi still remains one of my personal all-time favorite sitcoms. 

He leaves behind Alene, his wife of 50 years, and four children.
