And the breakout hit of the new fall season is…TBD

Several weeks into the new fall television season and not a single show has established itself as a hit.  In fact, Ugly Betty is the only new show to have cracked the top ten.  Even then it only did it for its first week out only to drop just out of the top ten in its second week.  Brothers & Sisters, Shark & Heroes have all produced good numbers, but can hardly be declared smash successes. What has caused the lack of success?

You can hardly blame quality.  The Nine, Studio 60, Brothers & Sisters, etc. are all well written with great casts.

 Maybe there is too much competition?  Maybe there are too many new shows being thrown at people at once?

 And maybe I am being a bit hasty, it did take a little while for Lost & Grey’s Anatomy to become the buzzed about hits they are.
