The Writer’s Strike isn’t going to end anytime soon. Right now, there aren’t even plans for the two groups to meet one another at the bargaining table again. Last night we saw the last episode of “The Office” – probably for the season – and more shows are going to be running out of episodes very soon.
It won’ be long before their is no new scripted television programming on the air.
So, what are you going to do when that happens? Are you going to continue to pay for your cable, even though there’s nothing but reality TV to watch on it? Are you going to tune into the reality shows that replace our scripted programs?
Personally, I got a Netflix account, and I’m planning on catching up with movies that I’ve missed over the last few years. Also, I found this store that sells coffee…and also has these things called books. Inside them are all kinds of stories. They’re very much like television…except the screen is in your brain.
So, I’m going to try out a few of those things too (some of these book things are even based on TV shows!). I think it’s going to be a very interesting…and troublesome time. Who knows? By the time the writer’s and producers get this crap sorted out…I might be done with TV.
